(I'm currently running AVG Free.) I first encountered this problem when I installed an issue of Avast AV software and this procedure would not make Eudora work under the Avast application. The only two I have found that do work with Eudora are Trend It helped the Avast/Outlook problem when I uninstalled the Avast server, and the problem with companyweb was gone after I removeedd the avast proxy listings from all sites in IIS. But, because it is an obsolete email client, many of the Anti-Virus Software packages out there are not compatible with Eudora. The Avast Exchange Plugin were running before I uninstaled Avast Server.
Ive found 2 so far out of several others that do not work on Microsoft. (STARTTLS only) I will say however, for me other accounts on server work fine. I did attempt the Thunderbird with great success. I, like so many of you, have become particularly fond of Eudora. Just adding, Im having the same issues as well, and Ive tested on Outlook 2016, 2007. Just click on 'Sending Mail' under 'Tools', 'Options' and look for 'skull & crossbones' Certificates as outlined above. Similarly, this procedure will also cure Eudora's failure to send mail should it pop up a similar error message. If not, repeat the procedure outlined above until it does.
